When the Holidays Don’t Look Like You Expected

I am not sure what your holiday season looks like.

For some of us, this time of year is full of cozy traditions and joy. But for others, the holidays look a little different than we hoped.

Maybe your kids are splitting time between families, or a loved one won’t be home this year. Maybe relationships feel strained, or you’re adjusting to a new season of life with adult kids.

Whatever it is, it’s okay to admit that the holidays feel a little harder than you’d like.

I want to encourage you: Even when the season isn’t picture-perfect, it can still hold moments of grace and beauty. 💛

Here are a few ways to navigate this season:

🎄 Let go of expectations: It’s okay if things don’t go exactly as planned. Focus on the moments of connection—no matter how small—and give yourself permission to embrace imperfection.

🎄 Set healthy boundaries: If you know certain situations or conversations might bring stress, decide ahead of time how you’ll handle them. It’s okay to say no or create space for what you truly need.

🎄 Practice presence: Instead of worrying about everything being just right, focus on being fully present in the moment. Listen, laugh, and lean into the little joys that come your way.

🎄 Lean into grace: For your kids, your family, and yourself. You don’t have to have it all together to create a meaningful holiday season.

This season, my hope for you is that you’ll find peace—even in the messiness.

That you’ll experience joy—even in the unexpected.

If you’re feeling the weight of the season, know that I’m here to walk alongside you.

Sending love and grace your way.
