I never thought I would be the mom..

I never thought I would be the mom at the hospital, sitting next to my child, looking at the intake nurse, facing what could be a life-changing decision.

I never thought my instincts as a mother would reach an end, leaving me questioning absolutely everything. Desperate for help but not knowing where to find it.

I was faced with two options-

  1. have my child committed to the psychiatric hospital?

  2. take them home with me? But did I have the tools to keep them safe from self-harm at home?

No one expects to be this mom.

Yet, Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among people aged 10-14.

And, 1 in 6 U.S. youth aged 6-17 experience a mental health disorder each year.

It's scary as a parent when your child is struggling with their mental health!

The helpless feeling when you can't "fix it" for them.

Not everyone will reach the point we did.

But we can all relate to the feeling of being unsure what to do next when they are struggling. Or what to do while you wait for the doctor appt or what to do in conjunction with therapy.

You need tangible resources!

Good news.. we have them for you!

Im working with Speak Out, for their first ever parenting conference!

They have heard the needs of parents and answered the call!!

At "The Parent Conference: Setting the Table - Navigating Mental Health in our Teens & Kids"

they will be covering topics like-

✨️ Creating safe spaces & setting the table (active/non-judgmental listening)

✨️ Warning signs, early intervention, and crisis intervention.

✨️ Digital rule of life, navigating social media, technology & your child's mental health.

✨️ Setting the table for success: leading by example with self-care and boundaries.

"Setting the table" serves as a beacon of hope and support for families navigating the complex terrain of teen mental health. Inspired by Jesus' example of compassion and inclusivity, we empower parents to build stronger, more resilient relationships with their teens, grounded in love, empathy, and understanding."

I will be there offering a workshop on communication and expectations as well!
